Avec l’exposition Phénomènes, Marina Gadonneix présente une série de photographies qui explorent les modèles scientifiques de réplique d’évènements naturels. L’artiste se penche sur la théâtralité du laboratoire, lieu d’expérimentation où se rejoue constamment le monde. S’intéressant à la manipulation de ces variables à priori incontrôlables qui régissent notre planète, elle photographie des simulations de phénomènes naturels tels que le feu, la gravité, une avalanche, une tornade ou un séisme. À travers leur (re)production artificielle, ces phénomènes prennent littéralement forme, deviennent des choses – des entités sur lesquelles nous pouvons dès lors avoir une préhension. Marina Gadonneix examine le désir des êtres humains de s’approprier par l’intellect les choses abstraites, de transformer en objets (d’étude) des phénomènes intangibles.
