Celia Perrin Sidarous

In the exhibition The Archivist, Celia Perrin Sidarous addresses questions of trace and memory through manipulation and documentation. She examines the museological practices of archiving and displaying objects in order to shed light on the gestures involved in these practices. Prior to the exhibition, she went through the museum’s collection—focusing on both the objects and their documentation—and selected items that particularly intrigued her. In The Archivist, these items are displayed next to photographs and objects made or acquired by Perrin Sidarous over the years. Two collections—one institutional and the other personal—enter into dialogue in the gallery, which becomes a kind of diorama in this exhibition.
