The 3D animated video PRETTY TALK (2023) forms the core of Eagle’s solo exhibition. The script is based on a collage entirely “composed” of parrot songs: bits of speech, curse words, shrieks, burps and other bodily hiccups, telephone rings and video game tunes, meows, barks, and hoots. The soundtrack is an immersion into the daily life of a small and decidedly ridiculous North American suburb with computer-generated images creating hyper-realistic visual incarnations of human or non-human figures who act as the ventriloquist’s puppets in this avian—and human—black comedy.
